In this tutorial I will show you how to use vhe.
When making a map, there are 2 things which constitute a map. Solid world geometry(or brushes) like walls, buildings, etc and entities.
There are 2 types of entities. Brush entities and point entities. Brush entities are doors, moving water, etc and point based entities are lights, player spawn points, etc.
First of all, let's get familiar with vhe. Click on file>new. The view should look like this:
Don't get intimidated by the view. Soon, all this will be second nature to you like riding a bicycle.
Place your cursor on the 3d view and press z. This is the shortcut key for navigating in the 3d view. Press z to exit from the camera mode. If you want, you can change the orientation of the 4 views.
The next screenshot shows the different functions of the most used buttons.
